Our Customized Approach...
JT Electronics provides
custom circuit design and hardware from system concepts
or specifications which cover applications from baseband
to 26 GHz. Specific applications include R.F.
amplifiers, active and
passive mixers, switches, filters,
frequency synthesizers, modulators
and demodulators. The physical circuitry is comprised of
either lumped or distributed elements via microstrip,
stripline, or coplanar waveguide topologies depending on
the performance, packaging, and cost trade-offs. The
circuit board material or substrates utilized range from
aluminum oxide or alumina impregnated material, teflon
fiberglass, to FR4 type epoxy resins. Discrete
components are of the surface mount or chip variety,
mounted with conventional wave or hand soldering
techniques for conventional boards, or with eutectic
solder or epoxy attachment for hybrid assemblies.
Hybrid, chip and wire interconnects, are accomplished
using gold wire, thermal compression bonding.
All customer
specifications are initially approached in the ideal
case via CAD analysis, and extensive experience. The
realities of component layout, ground loops, cross talk,
component tolerances, and packaging effects are then
factored into the overall design. Many of these issues
are resolved in the engineering breadboard model
whereby the package and interconnects become part of
the R.F. circuit at the higher frequencies. Thermal
effects, related to active and passive device junction
temperatures in turn are modeled, based on manufacturer
component specifications. Once accomplished, the
environmental issues such as temperature, humidity,
shock, vibration, and electrostatic discharge are
integrated into the final package as related to the
candidate devices chosen and their destined
environment.
